Spooktacular History of the Garden Club's Scarecrows

Scarecrows in the Park is part of the annual Lakes Park Fall Festival. Over 50,000 visitors attend the Fall Festival every year!

In 2019, part of this event was SCARECROWS IN THE PARK with spooktacular exhibits. Monies raised from this event supported projects and programing in the park. The Garden Club of Cape Coral entered a scarecrow exhibit the last 8 years on behalf of a community sponser. We try to do something that will teach the public about plants or the environment, and still be fun. In 2018, our entry reflected our current water quality problems in this area and was sponsored by The Key West Express.
