Garden Club of Cape Coral
The APRIL and MAY 2020 Monthly Meetings are cancelled due to safety and health concerns about Covid 19 Coronavirus. In lieu of the monthly meetings, Garden Club members are invited to send in photos of what's blooming in their yards and gardens this April & May. Click here to view the photo gallery.
We meet monthly, September to May, on the second
Wednesday each month at the Kiwanis Hall, 360 Santa
Barbara Boulevard, Cape Coral and also have a monthly trip to
somewhere of interest. We participate in both horticulture
and floral design and are staging two flower shows this year.
January’ show – New Beginnings - will be a Small Standard
show and April’s will be a Standard show celebrating Cape
Coral’s 50th anniversary. Our monthly meetings begin with a
social half hour at 6:00 p.m., followed by a speaker on an
educational topic and then our Business meeting. Our club
encourages membership of women and men who are familiar
with gardening in Florida and those who would like to learn
about gardening in the sub tropics, zone 10b.
Our monthly opportunity drawing helps to pay our rent
and we run an annual photography competition to select a
photograph taken by one of our members to be featured on
the cover of our annual Directory.
The club depends on membership involvement in the
several committees that run our internal operations and
outreach efforts. Committee membership is obligatory. All
members participate at our annual March in the Park event –
our main fund raiser, which provides 99 percent of the funds
that support our civic outreach efforts. A Committee list is
available from the Membership Chair.
Members provide simple refreshments at each meeting
and Debbie Cooper, Hosting Chair, maintains the roster of
those bringing refreshments and food table centerpiece for
